I returned this afternoon from Turkey and while waiting at Antalya Airport I noticed that my current visa is just a one-month-visa (I did not see it when I got it because then I would have said anything about it). The two earlier visa this year, all got in Istanbul, were automatically three-months-visa. Can anybody tell if this is common in a touristy place like Antalya, is it a mistake of the customs or a way to get more money (because when I go back within 3 months now I have to buy a new one and else I wouldn't)?

I've seen it before. But if you plan ahead, you can get the 5 year visa too

How can it be that cheap?

For a 9 month student visa cq residence permit, I paid 55 euros at the embassy in Holland and another 70 YTL at the Turkish police office who issued my papers. That equals (55 € = 70 $) + (70 YTL = 48 $) = 118 $.

And how can you get a 5 year visa? Or would that be a 5 year holiday visa?

No, you cannot get the 5 year Visa at the airport. This needs to be done at a Turkish Consulate or Embassy.
