I want to travel from Italy to Turkey in spring 2007. From rome to Ataürk Airport, the price is about 300 Euro round-trip. But if I go from Milan to the airport on the Asian side, the prices start from 100 Euro. Is it worth my while saving money by arriving on the Asian side if i then plan to stay on the European side? I don't want to take a flight and then find myself with a long bus journey from the airport.

If it is that cheap you should definetely go for it. Even if you take a taxi (at worst), you can save a lot of money. Depending on your arrival time (Morning and Evening hours), going from SG to the Europan side (crossing the Bosphorus bridge) can take a lot of time in a heavy traffic (upto 2 or 3 hours) though.
