I still have a problem that things I learnt wrong in my first weeks still come back to haunt me when I speaking! So, that is why I wanted to point some things out to you...

Anlaştık literally means: we have agreed. So it is used for "its a deal". It is a verb, not a noun. So you can use the Q: anlaştık mı? Have we agreed? You can also ask your freind whether they were able to strike a deal with someone else: Ahmet ile anlaştınız mı?

To say "my" you put -ım (or the other vowel harmony versions of it) on the end of the noun. The benim is extra, for emphasis, but it doesn´t mean you don´t need the -m.

So it is bahçem or benim bahçem

tesis: is the noun plant as in a factory. Üretim tesisleri: manufacturing plant.

tesisleri için means for the factory plant.

To plant as in flowers is dikmek.

Çiçek diktim: I planted flowers.

Thank you very much for those corrections! I´m having such a hard time with the vowel harmony part....like when you put the -im on the end of ben(im) to change I to my .... do you always have to add the -m to the noun as well (if it ends in an e??)? I don´t know why this is so confusing to me

 Yes Kiara, you always have to put the possessive on the noun.

This is even more important than saying benim.

e.g. Bahçem means my garden. (On its own, no need to add benim. If you do add benim, it emphasises it).

If the noun ends in a vowel, just add -m

Elbise : --->  elbisem: my shirt

Kedi : ---> kedim: my cat

If the last vowel in the noun is -i or -e, add -im

Ev : --->  evim: my house

If the the last vowel in the noun is -a or -ı, add -ım

kravat:---> karavatım: my tie

If the the last vowel in the noun is -o or -u, add -um

If the the last vowel in the noun is -ö or -ü, add -üm

Gül : --->  gülüm: my rose

Here is a small post from a new user of the website. I came across the expression ´Kendine gel´, and its translation.....could it possibly mean something like ´get to your senses!´?

i´m trying to learn as much verbs as impossible so(lol),  today, i learnt gelmek, to come, gÜlmek= smile, and sevinmak= to feel happy.i learnt some names of jobs : oğretmen=teacher, doctor=doktor, dentist= diş hekimi, and farmer= çitçi. lol

Slight spelling mistake there........
