Quoting lady in red

But we don´t seem to use these ´set´ expressions in English.  I love using them in Turkish

What about "hit the sack" or "one for the road" as examples???

sakın ol = calm down    not ı but i

correct word is sakin. there is no vowel harmony rule here because it is an arabic word. for some foreign words we dont use vowel harmony rule.

sâkin ol.

i dont know how to tell in english but "bastaki a harfini uzun okumaliyiz. bastaki a harfi sapkali veya sapkasiz yazilabilir." in both cases "uzun okumaliyiz."
