what is so rude in 'kaynana'? the dictionary gives both words but no comments for them.. |
One of my dictionaries defines kaynana as 'old and bitter'... maybe that has something to do with it  |
Just we (my whole family) don't use it.
Or I should say this: You may talk about it generally as "kaynana", but if you show a specific person like the mother of your husband/wife, you don't use it.
Kaynanalarla geçinmesi zordur.<< An example for general speech about them.
But we don't call her as "kaynana". We say just "mother" during the talk to her, or "kayınvalide" while talking to another person about her.

İ thought we shouldn't translat 'PM ' as we don't translate some common words like 'email'

In fact, I don't prefer to use "email" in Turkish. It shpould be at least "e-posta" or something like that.

Ama şimdi elbiselerim yıkamalıyim şonra bira yapmam lazım.....

But now I must wash my clothes then I have to brew some beer.....

bugün eve geldikten sonra türkçe çalışarken arkadaşıma mektubu türkçe'de yazacağım. onunla mektuplaşmam çok faydalıdır, sanırım. çok hatalarım var halde hoşuma geliyor, bu yüzden yavaş yavaş türkçem'i gelişeceğimdir, umarım.
today, having come home, while studying turkish, ı will write a letter to my friend in turkish. it is very useful to correspond to him, ı think. although ı make many mistakes, it is enjoyable, so ı hope, my turkish will improve slowly.

I'd put it like this:
Şimdi Türkçe çalışmayı bırakmalıyım çünkü kız arkadaşım için pişirmem lazım.
"Türkçe çalısmak" constitutes a whole, so no need to put Türkçe in the dative case.
"çalısmak" is the object of bırakmak, so it takes the accusative state.
Only pronouns take a state with "için", not nouns.
I'd think that "bırakmak" is more suitable for what you want to say.
Doğru mu?
