Does anybody know if my Turkish boyfriend is allowed to visit England for a few weeks? He also isnt sure? Do they get a passport like we do or do they need to get a VISA? Or cant they visit at all.

hi jamie-leigh,

your boyfriend will need a passport AND a visa to go to the uk.

it looks like it is a long and sometimes difficult process. so you might want to organise it as soon as possible, depending on when you were planning for him to go to the uk.

you might want to check out these previous posts about getting visas for the uk for turkish nationals:

good luck!!

A visa is needed and unfortunately, it is extremely difficult to get to put it bluntly.

Your boyfriend will need to book an appointment to get his visa. You will need to provide evidence that you can support him to stay with u and he will need great evidence that he will return to his country after the time he says....

Websites such as this one can be very useful for helping u to know what u must do:

Good luck!

Aww thanks so much for your help. Ive read the links, at least now I know not to get my hopes up

I knew it would be difficult, but I thought if it was just for a few weeks, it would be straightforward like here, but never mind.

Thanks
xx

Yeh, they're pretty hard to get-

Annoys the hell out of me when u only want someone to come and stay with u for a matter of weeks yet it's so much hassle!

If u make sure u have everything they ask for (and more) and do lots of research into it, things should go smoother.

My advice: don't rush into it!...Gather lots of information and documents first!

..let us know how u get on, I've got my fingers crossed for u if u go for it....
