A new thread to share ideas for food

We all have to cook and/or eat food everyday so share what meal you are going to have today. I am posting this here and not in the Recipes forum as it doesn't have to be Turkish food - it can be any food.

So let's share our culinary delights!!!

OK - I'll start this off (magnum excepted LL )

Last night I cooked pork chops with baby onions. They were cooked in a tomato and mixed herb gravy and served with mashed potato laced with onion and garlic and with fresh carrots (home grown by my sister) and peas. And it was all very yummy especially accompanied by a bottle of decent white wine

A bit of an international mix:

DLC Cabernet Merlot wine (lovely Turkish red)
Digestive biscuits and cream crackers bought from Ikea, Umraniye.
Çerkez peynir (Circassian cheese) from Migros
Celery sticks and tomatoes from Migros.

Tonight I am entertaining some friends. I am making some braised lamb. I'll probably serve it with rosemary potatoes and fresh green beans. There is a lovely bottle of Merlot just waiting to be consumed!!

No no - Merlot is wonderful I was just commenting that everyone seems to drink merlot, cabernet savignon and shiraz wines lately, and tend to ignore the others like tempranillo, muscadelle, pinot noir, melbec etc. Hehe don't worry I am not a wine snob, I just LOVE red wine hehehe!

Seafood Etouffee for lunch!! If you are not familiar with what that is...it is popular in Louisiana. Since Houston is so close, we enjoy a lot of food from there. It is shrimp, and crawfish in a kind of stew with vegetables and potatoes...ummm. It is usually served with rice and corn bread.

I am smelling out school by eating a donner kebab.........

It is sort of a left over kebab!

Last night I quite fancied kebab but my girlie wanted pizza, so we ordered a pizza for delivery along with a kebab from the same place.   But when it came there was no chilli sauce on it so I only ate a small amount before walking to the nearby kebab shop to get one with the required sauce.......and  also got some extra sauce for the faulty kebab which I hav brought into work today.

It tastes much better now it has sauce
