Hi All,

I am very new here - and nearly as new to the Turkish language. I visited Turkey for the first time less than a month ago and have already booked another longer holiday for next year. We are going back to Turunç next summer.

Although I have a good command of the English language, I have never learned any other language. However, I was so impressed by Turkey and it's people that I am determined to learn the language before I return next year. Ideally I would like to be sufficiently proficient that I use no English at all except to my girlfriend and non-Turkish speaking guests who share our hotel.

I've only been trying to learn Turkish for about 10 days. I started with a CD-ROM and then found this site which seems fabulous.

But the part I am struggling to get to grips with is the vowel harmony rules and suffix modifications. Therefore I have decided to write a web-based application to help me learn these rules (I'm a web programmer). If anyone is interested I will post a link here once it is finished as it might be helpful to other beginners.

Kind Regards

Bod
