Hi all,
I wanted to ask if anyone on the group actually teaches English as a foreign language in Turkey more specifically Istanbul and how they came to chose the right course and how they have progressed. I am especially intrested as I am going to undertake a TEFOL course in England very soon and hope I can teach to some degree in Istanbul in the summer of 2007. My last stay in Istanbul was only last month and I contacted a woman who contacted me before coming to Istanbul about teaching English in Istanbul she was very positive about my prospects even considering I have no teaching background whatsoever just a good standard of English education. The certificate that you qualify at the end of your TEFOL course was sufficent to the employer that I had contacted and gave me great positive feeling that for myself from a non teaching background was the right step to take. It would be wonderful to read other people who have gone down this route who have had no teaching background especially. TEFOL is Teach English As A Foreign Langauage.

Hi deli
I actually found an online course http://www.onlinetefl.com/ I am surprised by the difference in prices of TEFOL course Deli they vary so much, it really is good to shop around especially when it comes to the right course for yourself and budget. I only work part-time because my life now is between England and Turkey and although full-time would be better I could not visit my girlfriend as often as I would like to, so the price of the course is very important and why should you pay more for anything if there are more cheaper courses available.
