Well its time I made a post and let everyone know what I'm doing.
Finally, I will be moving to Turkey on 28th June. I will going with Yakup, who is now my partner and is currently living in the UK with me. We will go initially to Fethiye and stay in a hotel for 3 weeks, during which time we hope to find an apartment. We will start looking for a hotel to rent for next year and Inşallah,we will open next Spring.
I have nearly finished a TEFL course in London. This is just a safety net to enable me to earn some money between now and when I can start getting an income from the hotel, but I'm not desperate to work, so I'll play it by ear. I dont have a job waiting or a work permit, but if I decide I need money, I'll start a small business as a private English tutor if I can, if not, and I need money, then I'll get a job offer and sort out a work permit afterwards. I just dont want to spend any of my capital for the business so I'll just see what happens.

My Turkish is pretty good now (not great, but enough to start off. Yakup and I speak in a mixture of Turkish and English everyday. I've pretty much mastered the grammar, but need to build on my vocabulary. I'm not too worried, I am absolutley sure that once I am actually living there it improve on a daily basis. Yakup's English is fluent now. He has finished his year long course in London and will take his exams next month. I will probably encourage him to do the same on line TEFL course that I am taking and then he can also teach English. In the right areas the demand is great. SO - I will post more about my experiences when I get there and I want to say a really BIG THANK you to everyone here who has helped and encouraged me over the last couple of years. All the best to everyone. Lyndie.
