Uzun ince bir yoldayım
Gidiyorum gündüz gece
Bilmiyorum ne haldeyim
Gidiyorum gündüz gece
Dünyaya geldiğim anda
Yürüdüm aynı zamanda
İki kapılı bir handa
Gidiyorum gündüz gece

Quoting ttuncayy_87:

Uzun ince bir yoldayım
Gidiyorum gündüz gece
Bilmiyorum ne haldeyim
Gidiyorum gündüz gece
Dünyaya geldiğim anda
Yürüdüm aynı zamanda
İki kapılı bir handa
Gidiyorum gündüz gece

One of my favorites. The feeling is better if you listen to this song from the original singer. Words are really powerful.

On a long and narrow road
Walking for days and nights
I don't know how do I do (How am I)
Walking for days and nights
At the moment I was born
Started to walk as well
In a caravansary with two doors
Walking for days and nights

Is the "caravansary with two doors" a reference to the Omar Khayyam verse?

Think, in this batter'd Caravanserai
Whose Doorways are alternate Night and Day,
How Sultan after Sultan with his Pomp
Abode his Hour or two, and went his way.

No, the real word is HAN, something like a motel for trespassing traders, travellers etc.
Since there is no equal one in English, I have chosen caravansary, which is bigger than HAN but known by many foreign people.

The poem that I translated is about LIFE. Try to get the symbols describing steps of the life.
Please try to get the meaning by yourselves, it would require writing a book to explain all feelings in the poem.

Here is the full text with translation;

Uzun ince bir yoldayım
Gidiyorum gündüz gece
Bilmiyorum ne haldayım
Gidiyorum gündüz gece

On a long and narrow road
(I am) Walking for days and nights
I don't know how do I do (How am I)
(I am) Walking for days and nights

-------------------
Dünyaya geldiğim anda
Yürüdüm aynı zamanda
İki kapılı bir handa
Gidiyorum gündüz gece

At the moment I was born
Started to walk as well
In a caravansary with two doors
Walking for days and nights

-------------------
Uykuda dahi yürüyom
Kalkmaya sebep arıyom
Gidenleri hep görüyom
Gidiyorum gündüz gece

I walk even I sleep
Looking for a reason to get up
I saw many poeple passing
Walking for days and nights.

-------------------
Kırk dokuz yıl bu yollarda
Ovada dağda çöllerde
DüşmüşÃ¼m gurbet ellerde
Gidiyorum gündüz gece

Forty-nine years on this road
In plains, on mountains, in deserts
Far away from my hometown
Walking for days and nights

-------------------
DüşÃ¼nülürse derince
Irak görünür görünce
Yol bir dakka miktarınca
Gidiyorum gündüz gece

If it is thought deeply
It looks far away when looked at
A minute distance of the road
Walking days and nights

-------------------
Şaşar Veysel işbu hâle
Gâh ağlaya gâhi güle
Yetişmek için menzile
Gidiyorum gündüz gece

Veysel is amazed by this
He is not sure to cry or to laugh
To reach the target
Walking days and nights
