I only joined this forum recently, so SORRY if someone else has already let you all know about a WONDERFUL book called LIVING IN TURKEY FOR FOREIGNERS.

It is by Pat Yale, who has lived in Cappadocia for many years, and was a major author on Lonely Planet Turkey, so she knows what she is talking about.

It is a great handbook, packed full of loads of practical information, and is published by Çitlembik - a good publisher for English books in Istanbul.

In the states you can buy it from Amazon or Nettleberry

In Turkey, get if from Çitlembik or from Greenhouse bookstore Kadıköy IStanbul (0216 449 3034 eposta@superonline.com)

This link was the review I did on for Sundays Zaman:

Wow, that really sounds like a must have. I'm off to Amazon to get it.

Another book I just finished and found very interesting was Tales from the Expat Harem: Foreign Women in Modern Turkey (Seal Women's Travel)by Anastasia M. Ashman (Editor), Jennifer Eaton Gokmen (Editor)

Thank you for your contribution.

Yes that is a good book too. It is an anthology of stories from various women. For those who prefer to read in Turkish it is published by Doğan Yayıncılık in Turkey with the name Türkçeyi Sevmek.
