Karadır bu bahtım kara
Sözüm kâr etmiyor yâra
Yaktım yüreğimi nara
Eyvah eyvah eyvah ah
Kendim ettim kendim buldum
Gül gibi sararıp soldum
Eyvah eyvah ey ah
Bilmez yar gönlümden bilmez
Akar gözyaşlarım, dinmez
Bir kere yüzüme gülmez
Eyvah eyvah eyvah ah..
Kendim ettim kendim buldum
Gül gibi sararıp soldum
Eyvah eyvah
Söylerim sözüm almıyor
O yar yüzüme gülmüyor
Garip geldim bilmiyor
Eyvah eyvah eyvah ah..
Kendim ettim kendim buldum
Gül gibi sararıp soldum
Eyvah eyvah ah

My fortune is painted black, real black
My words are not agreed by my love
I burnt my heart in the hell
Alas!...Alas!...Alas!
I am victim of my own mistakes
I turned to pale and fainted just like a rose
Alas!...Alas!...Alas!
My love doesnt know of my soul
My tears drop, never stop
She never smiles at me
Alas!...Alas!...Alas!
I am victim of my own mistakes
I turned to pale and fainted just like a rose
Alas!...Alas!...Alas!
I would tell but i have no words enough
That girl never smiles at my face
I came to the world as a wretch, she doesnt know.
Alas!...Alas!...Alas!
I am victim of my own mistakes
I turned to pale and fainted just like a rose
Alas!...Alas!...Alas!

Hi pisagor, I learned a few things reading your translation, thanks.
Please can you explain "yar" to me. It has come up in a few poems and I don't quite get it.
PS
For "Gül gibi sararıp soldum" My colour faded and I withered like a rose, would sound more fluent in English.

"Yar" is a complicated concept .
Normally, it describes a person who are loved however sometimes it means a whole love.
If it means "a person" , to translate as "my love" will not be a problem because "my love" or "love" are possible words to call the person you love.
If it means the love , its again best idea to use "love" .
------------------------------------------------------------
Roses do not pale.
But, I used "pale" word cause i thought the poet ment some physical changes in his looking because he suffered.
He means more than a change in colour:
like this pain made him less alive , - compared to smiliar changes of a rose - i thought faint is a better word.

Hi Thanks for the explanation on yar You are great.
I agree that the poet was making a wonderful comparison with a rose that dies. In poetic English we would say it fades (this means its color goes pale, just as you said) and it withers (shrivels up and dies, the petals drop off one by one, like fainting).
