I would like to ask a question, maybe smone is specialized in Turkish history and can give me correct answer.
When did the name Constantinopol oficially changed into Istanbul?
i will explain why, so u don't think i'm crazy..my turkish friends are telling me that turkish used the name istanbul a little after they conqured the city, but i found a date which says that the name was changed in march 1928..
so..if you know could you tell me and give me an information source?

Somebody had written a book on this issue but there it says the issue is unclear. Obviously among Turks the name was used long before it was officially announced.
