I have never FLOWN. Ama...I really really like yours better. I will start a campaign to put FLIED into the Oxford English Dictionary! lol

This is not the first time that I have contributed to English language, you know!

Today's papers have news from BMI (British Midlands airlines) that they will start a daily direct flight between Ankara and Heathrow on 29 October. No need to go via Istanbul any more!

The price will be 290 euro (not clear if taxes are included in this or not).

Timetable:
Depart Ankara 10:45 arrive Heathrow 13:25
Depart Heathrow 12:00 arive Ankara 18:05

BMI is part of the Star Alliance group.

This must be a stupid question seeing as no-one else is asking it lol but how come it takes so much longer from Heathrow to Ankara, as it does from Ankara to Heathrow?

yes BA do have a pretty bad record when it comes to losing baggage.I would not like that to happen to me!I am flying from manchester to ankara via istanbul with turkish airlines on wednesday.Personally i find it annoying that i can only get a direct flight to ankara from London which obviously increases my travel costs not to mention the inconvenience of it so i end up doing one stop in istanbul. How rude.

Offfffffffff its the norm for ME Everytime I have to fly it means an hours boat trip and 3 hours taxi trip before I even reach the airport! Count your blessings lol

BA are still great (despite the luggage 'problem'). They have their own terminal plus you get free drinks and superior service in economy! What more can a girl ask for lol

I think you have your information slighltly wrong there! 29 hours delay going out and 22 hours coming home and BA staff that could not care less - and yes they do have their own terminal, but I flew from Terminal 4 and it was worse than a cattle market on a busy day. I will never ever fly with BA or their franchises again. You get free drinks on any flight outside the EU that is over about 3 hours, so that one gets knocked on the head.

Please tell me what superior service is made up of? I failed to notice any............. when you have been sitting on the runway for over 4 hours waiting to take off in a broken down plane, you expect a little more than superior service - at least have a crew member that speaks Turkish or Arabic! Instead don't rely on a passenger to translate. And now I have to 'be patient' and wait at least 28 days to see if I am entitled to compensation. A big OFFFFFFFFFFF to BA

And to top it, one girl and her sisters lost ALL their luggage!

p.s. I have to negotiate about half of M25 before I get to the airport - it can take anywhere from 2½ hours to 5 hours!!

(And Aenigma,. you wonder why I had the hump when I came back - now you know!!!!!!!)

BMED already did have a direct flight, a franchise of BA, but that franchise is now being dis-banded - guess when!! 29th October, so I guess the new franchise is with BMI. And bearing in mind that BA have a horrendous record of losing baggage and delayed cancelled flights, beware!!!!!! Turkish airlines also fly direct.

Ohh how funny about what you said libralady, about 'BA have a horrendous record of losing baggage' because it was my first time ever traveling with BA this past month that this very exact thing happened to me!

Last month I went to Turkey to visit my husband and for our second wedding Anniversary he promised to take me to Bodrum, having just gotten to Turkey when BA lost my ONE luggage too. This just completely threw our schedule of going to Bodrum by 2 days! Next time I will carry my luggage rather than check it in if I ever travel with BA again.

God - you really are "on one" lately aren't you. Well how can my "information be slightly wrong" when all of us can only talk of our OWN experiences!! I have always had great flights with BA, check in online, dump baggage, no queues, nice staff etc. However, I had horrendous experiences with Thomas Cook airlines, which other people really praise here. It's the luck of the draw

Anyway, you seem to be one of those people who are only happy when they have something to complain about, so your experience should keep you happy for months! lol

Personally, the best airlines I have flown with are Cathay Pacific and Virgin - but then both of those were first class

What is it? What does it look like? Is it something eatable or smellable? Or you use it for cleaning your lavatories?

NB The past tense for the act of flying is flew. I.e. "the bird flew out of the tree"

I knew it, aenigma! All my questions were about flied!

P.S. That initial NB is somehow familiar to me.

Actually that is only a small part of the eventful journey we had, and the best airline I have flown with "Cathy Pacific". By the way, I love your analysis of me!!
