Kurban Bayrami? HELP!!!

Will I have a problem if I fly during Kurban Bayrami? With cancellations and things of that nature? This year it says it is from Thursday, Dec. 20 - Sunday, Dec. 23. I plan on visiting a University, but when I called this morning to ask if they are closing any time in December, they said no, they will be open. Surely they would be closed for this holiday?! Aren't most offices closed? Also, do people typically vacation this entire week? Would the entire week be bad for travel, or just those few days?

I was in the region of Kuşadası this year at Kurban Bayramı and I found many shops closed. Also all banks, post offices, travel agents.

I think the bayram week is not a good time to visit a university.Even it will be open, there will probably be few people there.

Book your flights and hotels early. I couldn't even get a bus ticket during this time...everything was full.

Thanks. That's exactly what I thought. What about the week before this holiday? Would it be safe to assume all professors and administrators would be there? I realize I could call them, but they are the ones who told me they would be open all of December!
I am booking online today if I can figure out my dates. Everytime I find a possible date, it bumps into this holiday.

I would call to be on the safe side. People have a tendancy to take a few weeks vacation around the holidays...especially universities and schools. My brother in law is out for 2 or 3 weeks around the holiday.

That's what I thought. I'm a bit worried about this to be honest. The professors I am trying to see have their schedules posted on the university website and according to their class schedules and the semester schedule, they will be there, but I'd hate to get there and that's not the case. When I tried to call this place, the lady spoke English, but not very well. She said they were open in December and I asked if they closed at all and she said no. So I don't know if I can even find out! Here's their website.
