.... or he had better start some English lessons FAST!

Today we read reports on proposals to change imigration rules for foreign spouses of British citizens. Turkey is non-EU so the rules will apply:

"Foreigners who want to marry a British person and come to the UK should be required to take an English test, Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has proposed.

The controversial measure would affect more than 40,000 foreigners who are allowed into the country each year as a spouse or fiance.

Ministers believe the step would boost integration and help give new arrivals a "flying start in the UK".

The proposals were announced as the Home Office published details of its new points-based immigration system, which begins in less than 100 days for certain types of highly-skilled workers.

Immigration minister Liam Byrne revealed that the Government will effectively bar low-skilled workers from outside the European Union under the new system.

The aspect of the points-based measures which would have applied to the low-skilled will not be introduced "for the foreseeable future", the minister said.

The consultation paper asked whether a written or oral test should be introduced and also requested comments on whether it should apply to spouses who cannot read or write.

The paper also asked whether failure to pass an English language test should lead to outright refusal of entry to the UK, or whether a temporary visa should be granted to allow the applicant to take language lessons. It suggested that the level of English required for pre-entry should only be "very basic", so the applicant was able to understand simple questions, read common signs and symbols and understand simple instructions."

I don't think it is too much to ask, if you want to LIVE in a different country you should speak the language....at least on a basic level.

they think that its UK's obligation to accept any immigrant who wish to live in UK after being in love with a british citizen.
how dare they be rude or complicate the procedures?

honestly, if my country was as popular as any western country, i would not be happy with the immigration flood.
plus i would hate other ethnicities who would come to my country and have all the benefits not working or avoiding to pay taxes. i wouldnt tolerate even a single day if they start bombing my cities.
i would deport them all back to their deserts, where they can bomb as much as they wish, enjoy their own benefits and build their own wonderful states.

HEHEHE...here in the US...we take ANYONE....even bombers, er, um, sorry, students. At least they speak English!! I don't think you have to worry about immigrants to your country Femme. They want to come the the US where all the women are loose and nobody has to work hard for anything. All we have to do is train a monkey to run the country....and life is just one big party!!
