American men typically marry younger women in the U.S. This is news to me..I would agree that there are alot of older men who are attractive to younger women. Then you also have older women who are attractive to younger men. I don't think it's accurate to state that older men normally marry younger women...

After a certain age it's pretty acceptable for either women or men to marry within a 10 year gap.

My spouse is 10 years younger than me and we have been married for over 40 years

I have a female friend, age 23 and this year, she got married to a 54 year old man but we never asked anything why. My friends attended her wedding and as if, the man is marrying his daughter, but they seem to love each other. Her husband told us, even though she was born late, still he found and got her. Just hoping they will live happily ever after

A few years ago I'd say that relationships between an older woman and a younger men had no chance to succeed. So when my younger brother being 20 married a woman who was 31 I was expecting them to separate soon. To my amazement, it's been 4 years and they're more than happy and have 2 wonderful children. At the same time many marriages of my friends finished although the age gap wasn't as big. Hence I'm never again going to judge anybody's relationship's chances basing on the age difference.

Well I am 41 and he is 31 we have been dating almost a year. I will be moving there by mid summer and know here in America age really doesnt seem to matter much. Although it seems more acceptable for an older man to marry a younger woman he is thought highly of. But an older woman marrying a younger man she is a cougar or trying to prove something. I am learning more and more about Turkey and since he lives in Istanbul it seems a melting pot there as well. Thanks to all who have inputed so far and please continue to do so..............
