Do you know how to spot a fake bag? Are fake shoes and bags legal in your country?

I think you can tell immediately when something is a fake (apart from the fact that the leading brands would NEVER sell their items in market stalls!!!). The whole "feel" and "smell" of expensive shoes or bags is unmistakeable.

However.... as I hate brand snobbery. If you can get something cheaper which is similar, and of the same quality, without that elite "badge", then go for it!

Maybe its just me, but I get sooo happy when I get something nice for really cheap! I don't care what name is on the bag!!

I know I'm going to get flack for this, but just like diamonds. Two things, I have a problem with are cubic zirconias and fake purses..

All these fake Louis Vuittons, uggg. Not that most people can even afford them, including myself. But, more importantly fake purses are made CHEAPLY. I could go through 3 or 4 fake purses a year..but would rather spend a little money and buy a Coach purse and know it's going to hold up for many years.

If your going to buy a fake or cheap purse, at least see that it's made well. I'm sure there are alot of them out there. But when they start looking old, worn and torn THROW them out, please.

I completely agree TC! I would rather get a good quality non-designer item, than a fake designer one

That is a requirement..they must be on sale or bought at an outlet mall...

To be honest, I think designer stuff has become a big tacky. Wearing that "designer badge" just seems a bit..... tasteless

I don't think I'm tasteless. I like to invest as I call it into a quality purse and shoes. I put alot of wear and tear on both..These two things I don't mind spending more money on. Sadly, I have found more expensive shoes are more comfortable. So in this case, you get what you pay for.

When shopping for clothing I have a criteria, which consists of how the fabric feels, how it looks on me and of course the cost. I could care less what brand it is..

I was not implying you were "tasteless" TC!! Maybe its different in the US, but in the UK the "chavs" and "D list" celebrities have taken over great brands like Burberry and made them tacky!!!

I agree with you about good quality and the fact that you get what you pay for. I just don't think it needs to be a made-to-measure Calvin Kline item to be "good quality"
