Interesting video....interesting concept....taking responsibility for your actions....I am trying to teach my 10 year old...any suggestions?

well, I think that preaching has little effect, but actions have lots. you need to show it in your home first - you and your husband, you need to discuss it at home and expect responsibility from your son as much as he's capable of understanding. for ex: if he makes a mess, he should know that he needs to clean it, if he doesn't do it, he won't do sth he wants, until he cleans his mess.
I'm not a teacher and I would hate to sound sanctimonious... so pls be gentle on me.

Teaching him how to walk was easy...teaching him to read was a piece of cake. It is the conceptual things in life that are difficult to teach. It seems sad that so many adults don't understand what taking responsibility means. Everyone just wants to focus on what rights they have and whether or not they can do something...not stopping to wonder IF they should do something.
