Dear AEnigma
Thank you for your pm dear. I would have run it all by Admin first but I thought you might find that a tad sly.

PM as the term suggests are for members’ most personal and private thoughts and I don’t think the owners of this site will thank you for explaining to me that you have loss of friends on this site who send you copies of my pms sent to them. Btw I hope they sent the positive comments I made about you too. You know how much I like a balanced argument . Perhaps it’s a ploy you have used with others in the past, I don’t know. What mind games you play eh ? Anyway I’m sure the owners of the site would much prefer their members to feel confident to use the PM facility (It is , after all, there for a reason - several reasons probably). Eg for swapping email addresses.
I have friends and I have acquaintances on this site. I discuss many matters with them, none of it extreme. I was advised by one member a long time ago to be careful what I put in my pms, as “one never knows who may be listening in”, consequently I haven’t said anything in a pm that I think is controversial. Of course I have spoken about you in pms and some of it in a negative way. I have this right, just as you do and I am sure you have exercised it. You are naive if you think that nobody holds post mortems about contentious threads (hey maybe we should even call it a Post Mortem). Somehow, I don’t think you are that naive.

People don’t have to share all their views in the forums. Neither should they be pigeon holed because of their silence. In one of your posts you referred to people trying to psychoanalyse you. So what? It is the human condition to wonder what makes other people tick. Let it go . Many people make complaints in their posts or accuse others of things . . they complain about the very things they do themselves. Look, we members, we moan, we groan, we complain, we wind each other up, we bitch . . . we all have to go to the toilet some time or other too. Nobody died from any of this on this site did they?

If your friends feel the need to wind you up further by divulging something I have said in a pm, that’s their business, not mine. I am glad you take comfort from it. I believe your “hidden agenda” in starting the “religion” thread was to provide entertainment for yourself. That is my opinion and many of your posts on that thread reveal that. If that is your entertainment, enjoy it. However, remember I have the right, as a member to interject at any time, that is the nature of a public forum. You have this right too and you exercise it. And rightly so. I understand that what you say about the state of affairs in the UK is not born out of racism but I think your agenda when you use the tones you often use, is to wind people up and cause confrontation. You have admitted yourself that you will argue for arguments sake. Let’s just call it something that winds me up . Not your view but your style. And you don’t like my style so, no problem. We can’t all be the same. I noticed you posted some comments the day of your pm. Same message about the UK, but much softer tones and therefore your point sounds more credible and worth discussing. You may not agree with what I am about to say, but I think something I have said to you has got through to you.

Look , I obviously made a bad impression of you the very first time I posted about your style, but in my opinion you misunderstood my intention and over reacted and the tone has been set ever since. Of course that made me lecture all the more . Ha ha ha I didn’t know you or ETKO. You were having a ding dong and I thought you were some defenceless woman who didn’t realise what she was getting into. I know different now.

If it suits you to think of me as some kind of extremist then so be it. Your view of me does not harm me or bother me. I do not place value on your opinion of me. My friends , my colleagues and my community know me and I know myself. I am happy in my own skin. I do not place value on what you think of me and neither should you place value on things I may say. We do not know each other apart from which buttons are the best ones to press .
In order to save your many friends the trouble, here are topics I have written about.in pms

Myself, religion, music, UK, Gaza, Fethullah Gulen, herbal remedies, holidays, special educational needs voluntary work in Istanbul, hotels, sightseeing, gender issues, my cat died, my daughter’s pregnancy, my daughter’s raging dental pain, the weather.

If I have forgotten anything I’m sure you’ll tell me.

Glad to be of service. It ceases to become a personal matter when pms are no longer confidential. I'm not bothered about the content of my pms as such, I haven't said anything controversial. But, ALL members on the site have a right to know that what they put in a pm may not be confidential as some members may feel the need to share it with others. Gossip is fine.

Girleegirl, yes partly to embarrass and ok, so I fall on my sword. Don't let any criticism I come in for get you down.

We are all pots, we are all kettles and we are all black.

I have no more to say. I have made my point and done it publicly as AEnigma would prefer me to do.

Enjoy the rest of the thread folks (assuming it doesn't get deleted or locked).
