if you have watched the youtube i gave last night you would understand that two separate laws can co-exist. people would have a choice: shariah or secular.
if it had succeeded in nigeria (note two different religions) then why not in multi-culture UK?
Ruhi Hamid (the lady who made the document) made very interesting points, namely, effectivness of sharia courts. unlike western proceedings, the shariah law is clear and precise. guilty? take your punishment!
pay attention to peoples opinions. even christians prefer to get their problems solved by the islamic laws.

Yes you are right, I apologise. It is, indeed, my dream to see the UK emulate Nigeria. They are held in high esteem as "the ideal way" to run a country

That has to be the biggest generalisation I have ever seen in my life. And coming from you Femme - I am shocked!

So found guilty - you are punished because you have no right of appeal ! of course this is acceptable !!!

why do you think you have no right to appeal in shariah? oh i see now, whatever the judge have stated its confirmed by allah? is it what you mean?
but you still have a right to appeal to the secular court (which is very expensive, takes lots of time and nerves).

just consider a bit the solutions offered by east to the west.

Femme I loved your link and agree it is the ONLY WAY forward for the UK (could we not make the laws apply to EVERYONE?) . In particular, my ears pricked up at the mention of Islamic interest-free mortages! I suddenly feel the need to convert to Islam ....where do I sign up?

If someone wishes to live under sharia law, its very simple: back your bags and move to a country where it is in use. If that's too much to ask for your so-called life-principles, then get your hands off our legal system and democracy!
