Sui mentioned this in another thread and I realised that we had not mentioned it on TC. Very sad
I sincerely hope that they are wrong about this being a racist attack

I heard today that the man who threw the baby to safety was the baby's uncle. His own wife and children were killed
The baby's parents were also killed.

""It was terrible. I just had to make a decision," he told CNN.
The smoke and flames were becoming unbearable. It was now or never.
"I took the child from my sister, the mother," he said. "She and the father were screaming: 'Don't do it! Don't do it!' But I didn't listen."
He added, "I looked into the eyes of the policeman below, and I knew I could trust him."
The police officer caught the baby, and he is now doing well. But the parents are still grieving because Onur's 2-year-old brother, Ilyas, was killed in the blaze -- one of nine people to have died in the fire that has shocked this German town. Five of the dead are children, officials said".

Racist attacks are a terrible thing but I don't think it happens in Germany only and bringing back the notion of nazists is a bit out of place - how long can Germany pay for what their gradfathers did. I remember not so long ago incidents of setting whole estates inhabited by Gypsies on fire in Slovakia. What names would you call them?
Sure I know that there are as many opinions of Turks in Germany as there are Turks. Had it been a racist demonstration of hate, it should be prosecuted. However, accidents do happen sometimes. Have you never heard of people dying in a fire?

Good point. Racism does indeed happen everyday everywhere and indeed, accidents happen to. If it was racist, the I sincerely hope the police find the culprit and justice is done. I also think that the building owner, Zeki, is also held somewhat responsible. An old building with wooden stairs and NO fire exit in place !!!! A death-trap in itself. It is all so easy nowadays to point the finger at racism straight away, I have been guilty of that myself, but I try not to until the evidence is there, and usually they do find the evidence these days. Not too many cases are left unsolved.
I pray for the hearts of those who have lost loved ones and that this awful event will not prevail over the rest of their lives, that in time they will heal.
