I would like some information on what facilities there are for mothers in Turkey.
so . . .
Does a midwife make visits to the home once mother and baby are discharged from hospital?
Are there health visitors who can be consulted at baby clinics or who will make a home visit?
Is there a baby clinic that mums can visit to have baby weighed and measured, and also to ask advice about baby.
Are there mother and baby groups, where mums can meet and socialise whilst babies play and socialise too?
Are these facilities free or not?
Any other information regarding such facilities in Turkey would be helpful.

Peace train, to be honest, I think you would be hard pressed to find the services you are inquiring about in Turkey. As far as someone visiting your home to check on mother and baby....you can probably count on your mother/sisters/other female relatives to come and help you but professional home healthcare is rare in Turkey. My sister in law has 3 small children and several of my husband cousins have small children....they all help eachother but I have never heard of mother/baby groups other than family or extended family. The services you are inquiring about are simply not part of Turkish culture.

Thanks Elisabeth. That's all I wanted to know. I thought as much, but wasn't sure.
