I think this is a great website where non-muslims can get a basic understanding of the religion.
Enjoy...

Doesn't this sound like a web site promoting Islam? Since you posted it, people can respond by liking and agreeing with it but people can also respond by criticizing it... you have to accept both. I think it's best to stay away from religious topics as much as we can...

I agree with Catwoman. I thought Mr. KeithL was the one complaining about anti-slamics.. is not this topic inciting members to give positive or negative opinions about Islam?

I think all religions start out good and with the best intent. It is people that manipulate religion to their advantage that bring unethical practices.
I posted this not to debate Islam, but only to show the base belief of the religion for the curious.

Thanx 4 the link. However as we say "ayinesi iştir kişinin lafa bakılmaz" "Actions speak louder than words", as long as the wrong practices of people continue, unless some aspects of the religion are revised to fit the era, the prejudice and misjudge about Islam are sure to continue as well.

Seems a little like propaganda.

Although I don't think this is an appropriate topic and post, I think we should give Keith credit for trying to win back our Muslim friends here who have felt mistreated here lately.
I think we still need to stay away from web sites that promote a certain political or religious view and focus on Turkey and language.

To anyone that reads this post, please know my intent. I am a lifelong Roman Catholic. I believe most of what my religion teches me, but not all of it. I think that all good people will arrive in heaven with their God no matter what your religion.
I posted this link as an olive branch to our muslim friends at this site to show that we are not against Islam and hope this very small jesture will make them rethink their decision and stay with us.

I for one, understood your intention Keith. You were trying to be refreshing and posted something positive about Islam. Some members here, past and present, have bemoaned the lack of positive images of Islam.

As long as the debate about Islam doesn't get insulting or the whiff of anti-Islam does not taint post, but Of course I'm sure the Mods will have their radars switched on so this thread is safe, yes?

If all else fails, I will save the thread with my own "fluffy bunnies " rule. Members can contect me via pm if you wish to have more details of this rule . . . I'm serious about the pms btw

Don't flatter yourself too much canim. I assure you that everybody understood Keith's intentions and they were nice ones. Some people simply had objections to the kind of propaganda that that web site was spreading. I hope you can understand that too .

I don't flatter myself but I can see my choice of phrase was a little arrogant , so strike "for one"

Having meet people from all walks of life, I can say that I have met more religous hypocrits than non-religous. But I respect everyone for their belief so long as I am able to have mine!

As a doctor Catwoman, don't you have to take the hypocratic oath?
