Criticism makes one grow up, instead of whining as a baby.

I think you have no idea what sense of humor is..

I am quite SURE of it! Her posts are quite depressing most of the time... The few times she displayed a sense of humor it wasn't too bad! She should try it more often!

Well, I don't consider belittling others culture to be funny. Evidently we have different ideas about what is acceptable to make a joke out of.

It's because you see it as belittling, we don't.

And here you have proven handsom's point! People that can laugh at themselves are the best people to be around and it seems there are a few here that are unable to do that. Why is is so difficult for you to understand that not EVERYTHING has to be so damn serious?

You see, this is the difference girleegirl...laughing at oneself and laughing at anothers expense.

Unlike some, I do not look at life as one long joke.

Of course you don't....you would rather look at it like one long miserable post! Life must be very depressing for you alameda. I truly pity you.

Life doesn't have to be a depressive, boring narrative. My life is full of color and fun and free will and love and humor with a mix of seriousness. You see, the difference is, I don't let the seriousness cloud everything else in my life. It's a choice.
Maybe you should try it sometime. You might actually enjoy yourself!

How your life is is not the point. The point is making fun of other people's culture. Making a joke out of revered cultural traditions is the point. There is nothing wrong with humor, but one should be mindful of at what expense that humor comes.

As to the humor or joy in my personal life or yours, that is a personal matter and not part of this discussion.

You go ahead and be mindful of whatever you want. Just don't expect everyone else to hold the same things sacred that you do.
I find nothing wrong with someone making a joke at the expense of my heritage because I can take a joke, but mostly because I am comfortable with who I am!!! And THAT is the biggest difference of all!

There is nothing wrong with humor as long as it adheres to your high moral standards? Your personal feelings about what is funny and what is not are hardly relevant either!!!
