Quoting catwoman: During fetal development there has to be testosterone in order to make the baby male, it is possible that there are some disturbances that leave the baby's brain inconsistent with her/his reproductive organs. |
Scientifically, yes this might be true. What about the ones who switch their preferances after having a "sexual experience" with someone from the same gender?

I think so too and maybe it has nothing to do with "biology"

Quoting catwoman: Quoting teaschip1: My sons godfather is gay, I obviously don't have a problem with gay people. But I do have a different perspective on it. I have a very difficult time believing God made them that way. Having a gender operation is a choice, made by them. Just my opinion. I don't think it's right. |
Ok... many people would agree with you. This is not however what psychiatry thinks about it. During fetal development there has to be testosterone in order to make the baby male, it is possible that there are some disturbances that leave the baby's brain inconsistent with her/his reproductive organs. |
So then what about people who are married for years get divorce and find the same gender partner? Is it possible there is a disturbance during adulthood to? I'm not debating the issue, really. Just tend to think some people play the blame game that's all.
I also don't hold to much regard for psychiatry. Almost half the population is on some sort of anti-depressant thanks to psychiatry.

Quoting girleegirl: Most people cant comprehend it because they aren’t in living it but for people that are transgender……if having surgery is right for them, then I say more power to them!
I really just don’t understand why people are so uncomfortable with it. That’s what I struggle with….why would anyone else care if I am male, or female, or hermaphrodite, or transgender or whatever!!
I just can’t even imagine what they must go through. From the confusion about their gender, to the people on the streets that stare…..or worse. No one would choose that life. Keith is right….it is strictly biological.
And if this person is now a male because of gender reassignment, and is having a baby…yay for them!! How many children are born into “normal†couples and are abused, unloved, or unwanted?

Hey your from Cali, anything goes there. You could have martians living in your back yard and you would be ok with it.
I don't know why I feel this way, maybe it stems from my faith and upbringing. I believe God put man and woman on earth to marry and produce. The whole transgender thing, isn't in the equation. Maybe thats why I can't accept it.

I can completely understand why this makes you uncomfortable, but I think we need to look at people as people first and any labels should go second or shouldn't matter really.
