Oh no! Vineyards you will be very missed. You have contributed so much here to keeping things on track, it really will have a very large hole without your input.

I find it incredibly classless for you to post a link to another Turkish forum on this site. Why don't you just pm your friends and tell them privately.....or are you just trying to pull people away from here?

I just went there and guess who are new members? PeaceTrain and Alamada... lol This site was originated from Kadir, a wonderful person who use to post here but decided to leave. Aenigma and myself were one of the first members at that site.

Now I'm afraid that site will never be the same. lol

Vineyards will be missed. He is what I call a "contributer".
So many of his posts contained great perspective and information on many subjects involving Turkey.
We need more "contributers"...

"classless" ? Go and look in the language forums, members are often giving out links for similar sites to this. Being a member of another site doesn't preclude someone from continuing to use this one. However, if Vineyards chooses to transfer his attention from one site to another, that's his right.

Notwithstanding Admin's original inspiration for creating this site, it is not some kind of nicey nicey Sunday afternoon project for the owners GG, it is a business enterprise and exists to provide a service to the public and thus make money.

If a person decides to venture into the business world, then they must expect competition not a monopoly. Moreover, they must keep their eyes firmly on the competition to ensure their own service keeps ahead of the game.

When Admins asked for suggestions recently I suggested that they themselves join similar sites so that they could evaluate and learn good practice and avoid less successful practice. Of course, they may already do this, I don't know. It's sensible business practice and any well run, creative business will not be scared of competition, but motivated by it. As an example, all the major supermarkets here in the UK keep their eyes firmly on each other. It keeps them on their toes, it makes them more creative, more innovative and ultimately the customer benefits too.

Maybe you went to the George Bush School of Economics, I don't know, but if you did I'd ask for my cash back as he thinks the French don't have a word for entrepreneur lol lol lol

Oh no Teas, it's ok, I only save my worst behaviour for this site. . . it just sort of crept up on me over the few months I've been here.

btw the dementia thing and all the self deprecating remarks I made . . . all sarcasm Don't worry, I heard some Americans don't understand superior UK humour, it's too subtle

btw I'm saying all of the above knowing full well it will anger some . . . just thought I would clarify.

Oh, the famous Turkish Delight? I had a look at it only because one of my best friends advertised it to me. A site that started as a protest and boycott of TC. If I remember correctly I was one of the bad people who dared to criticise Kadir The Link Provider. The rapidforum seems somewhat an exclusive club for Duda, Ayla and Nati who take turns translating and do a great job improving their Turkish.

I sometimes wish some members stopped coming here and went just there to celebrate threads like "Which name of Mohammed do you find most attractive." Unfortunately, those people are apparently not wooed by one-sided debates and come here just to argue...

Like I have always said you are an instigater..But I hold nothing you say to be bothersome, I just consider the source. The harder you try to anger people, the more laughs I get. So your sick sense of humor is really just quite embarrasing for you. lol Part of me actually feels a bit sorry that you humiliate yourself. It is so amusing to see how people can start an argument about another site. How many people from here have been to that site? Hundreds I suspect. I knew about it a couple of years ago, and Trudy also recommended it. Someone is right, dont remember which one, but yes people come here to argue and others go there to learn about Turkey. The forum is set up differently so this type of arguement cannot take place. There are several other sites that are run on the same basis. You post your query and you get your answer.

I don't find it suprising, those that have moved to the other site, did not generally get involved in the "debates". If Vinyard is classless, then so was Trudy as she also mentioned it and if I remember rightly they are not alone in mentioning other sites on here!

Don't make excuses for your friend, Keith. The reason he posted this was out of pure spite, not as an fyi here is a great resource. He was upset, even claimed he was leaving. So we know what the intention was for posting the link. Also, he wanted to leave with a bang..even sending me a scathing pm. So quit defending people for just the sake of it.

It has to do with the context in which it was done. I like Trudy a lot but if she posted a link to another site in the same context that vineyards has....then yes, it too was classless. But as I recall, Trudy didn't do all this I’m leaving gibberish when she left. She walked away quietly.

What the hell are you talking about keith? It is the way it was done that is the issue. It is not that difficult to understand. Girlegirl you made quite a scene out of nothing. I wouldn't actually post but your lowly attitude compelled me to do so. It is because of insolent people exactly like you are that I sometimes lose control and try to protect my personal boundaries fervently. Is it a bad habit? Maybe yes, but someone must really teach a lesson to hillbillies like you. Who the hell do you think you are? How come you call me classless? I am really tired of dealing with people like you. Don't communicate with me OK. I think it is easy. Just forget me. I am not in your league anyway.

Why is this classless? There is an entire thread on this site dedicated to other links for learning Turkish. So if Vineyards is classless for this, so are the dozens of other people that posted other links. (This included admin by the way).
What is the point of hating for the sole purpose of hate???

Don't make excuses for your friend, Keith.

Here we go again . . . grouping people, drawing lines of division.

I can't compete with you with PM's where I use one adjective you come up with 5-6. Are you sick?

Now I'm really cross . . . I never get PMs from GG. Well she won't be able to now of course because she used up all her adjectives

Thank you. I will not contribute to this site anymore. I am thinking of contributing to another Turkish language forum at http://29984.rapidforum.com/ from now on...

I just went there and guess who are new members? PeaceTrain and Alamada... lol This site was originated from Kadir, a wonderful person who use to post here but decided to leave. Aenigma and myself were one of the first members at that site.

Now I'm afraid that site will never be the same. lol

Underneath all of your condescending posts, you could be quite an interesting person. But you have allowed yourself to be clouded and misguided into a person who feels compelled to get attention by acting out.

No I'm not embarrassed or sick

I could be an interesting person? I don't quite understand how that fits in with everything else you say. Don't worry teas, it's ok to dislike me completely. If I'm attention seeking the easiest thing to do is ignore me . . . simple. However, if you like the laughs I provide . . . welcome .

btw I'm sure trying to pass off an internet essay as your own work, and being found out, is infinitely more embarrassing

You really do have no clue..if it was my essay you would know it. I would have been much more critical.. lol

You really DO have a clue . . . you are conveniently ignoring the fact that you passed off someone else's work as your own. The content is not relevant to the point I am making . . . and you know it. lol lol lol

btw couldn't you find an essay that matched your views more accurately, or was that too taxing for you?

Just because I didn't give a link doesn't mean I was passing it off as mine, you fool. If this way the case the majority of members here would be fraudulent as well. So why don't you scrutinize the majority here.

Go take some more of your medication and rest, you need it. lol

Some people don't really want to get in mud slinging matches with other people. They look instead for meaningful conversations and information exchange. That is the reason so many have left this site.

I really wondered why this has happened here. It appears one of the greatest contributors to conflict is, in fact, one of the most powerful members here. One who actually controls what is going on. Members are cultivated like flowers in a garden. Some are cultivated, some are pulled out. Posts are deleted at that members pleasure. If a member becomes too troublesome, they are deleted. I've seen it happen many times. Embarrassing posts by that member are deleted as well. Then there is the famous locked thread tactic. Then there is the tactic of making it so uncomfortable that the member will leave.

Now why could that be? In analyzing the possible reasons, I've concluded some interested parties may actually want it that way. Why could that be? It gets traffic, and ups traffic statistics, which in turn gets more adds, which generate income.

I deplore what this site has become. It was once wonderful productive contribution to world society. Now it's become a bed of obstinate quarrelsome vindictive none productive bickering and useless debate. It's devolving into something that reminds me of a Jerry Springer type show.
