Thank you. I will not contribute to this site anymore. I am thinking of contributing to another Turkish language forum at http://29984.rapidforum.com/ from now on...

I was one of the first members at that site. Maybe we shall meet again.

I find it incredibly classless for you to post a link to another Turkish forum on this site. Why don't you just pm your friends and tell them privately.....or are you just trying to pull people away from here?

I just went there and guess who are new members? PeaceTrain and Alamada... lol This site was originated from Kadir, a wonderful person who use to post here but decided to leave. Aenigma and myself were one of the first members at that site.

Now I'm afraid that site will never be the same. lol

Vineyards will be missed. He is what I call a "contributer".
So many of his posts contained great perspective and information on many subjects involving Turkey.
We need more "contributers"...

"classless" ? Go and look in the language forums, members are often giving out links for similar sites to this. Being a member of another site doesn't preclude someone from continuing to use this one. However, if Vineyards chooses to transfer his attention from one site to another, that's his right.

Notwithstanding Admin's original inspiration for creating this site, it is not some kind of nicey nicey Sunday afternoon project for the owners GG, it is a business enterprise and exists to provide a service to the public and thus make money.

If a person decides to venture into the business world, then they must expect competition not a monopoly. Moreover, they must keep their eyes firmly on the competition to ensure their own service keeps ahead of the game.

When Admins asked for suggestions recently I suggested that they themselves join similar sites so that they could evaluate and learn good practice and avoid less successful practice. Of course, they may already do this, I don't know. It's sensible business practice and any well run, creative business will not be scared of competition, but motivated by it. As an example, all the major supermarkets here in the UK keep their eyes firmly on each other. It keeps them on their toes, it makes them more creative, more innovative and ultimately the customer benefits too.

Maybe you went to the George Bush School of Economics, I don't know, but if you did I'd ask for my cash back as he thinks the French don't have a word for entrepreneur lol lol lol

You are right, Kadir is a wonderful person.

You make it sound as though you and AEnigma are long established members. I think it is fair to say you are lapsed members with only a handful of posts. Perhaps the site didn't offer what you were looking for?

Oh no Teas, it's ok, I only save my worst behaviour for this site. . . it just sort of crept up on me over the few months I've been here.

btw the dementia thing and all the self deprecating remarks I made . . . all sarcasm Don't worry, I heard some Americans don't understand superior UK humour, it's too subtle

btw I'm saying all of the above knowing full well it will anger some . . . just thought I would clarify.

Oh, the famous Turkish Delight? I had a look at it only because one of my best friends advertised it to me. A site that started as a protest and boycott of TC. If I remember correctly I was one of the bad people who dared to criticise Kadir The Link Provider. The rapidforum seems somewhat an exclusive club for Duda, Ayla and Nati who take turns translating and do a great job improving their Turkish.

I sometimes wish some members stopped coming here and went just there to celebrate threads like "Which name of Mohammed do you find most attractive." Unfortunately, those people are apparently not wooed by one-sided debates and come here just to argue...
