Quoting yilgun-7:

There is no classical movie star today like Elizabeth Taylor, Kim Novak, Vivien Leigh, Clark Gable, Charlton Heston, Ingrid Bergman, Humprey Bogard, Victor Mature, Catherina Hepburn, Audrey Hepburn, Susan Hayward, Richard Burton, Anthony Perkins, Tony Curtis, Wiliam Holden, Jennifer Jones, Natalia Wood, Marlon Brando, James Dean, etc

I might be wrong but at the time all of the above starred in films they were not really classical movie (film) stars. Not for their contemporaries lol How do you know in twenty years´ time Brad Pit won´t be called a classic?

 I could not disagree with you more.  Yes, in their day the old movie stars were good, but by today´s standards they would be seen as over-the-top.

Today we have great actors like Daniel Day Lewis, Cate Blanchett, Russell Crowe, Jodie Foster, Meryl Streep, Leo DiCaprio, Denzel Washington.  When you watch them you don´t get a sense of someone "acting" as is the case if you watch most stars of the past.

 Still grossly overpaid though.{#lang_emotions_noway}

Yes, Girleegirl, in my opinion, maybe Jodie Foster is good movie player.

I think the real world movie has died.

Today´s movie players standards are low.

They are not really movie stars, looks like mechanic fashion models

I have missed the real old movie stars.

 How can you know that the people of ´that time´ didnt see them the same way like we see our movie stars now? Peoples ideas of what is aesthetic change over the years, and what may seem ´old fashionably pure and real´ to you, may have seemed ´ordinary and mechanic fashion model´ to them at that time.
