Quoting girleegirl: Quoting MrX67: world needs more stronger, powerfull and aouthorized international organizations for creat a more common and livable world.İ'm afraid things will never change with organizations like UN and planty humanity shames will be on all over world as now in Burma..And things never will change unless we don't feel pains of others in deep of our hearts... |
What the world NEEDS is for egomanical leaders like the ones in Burma to get their heads out of their asses and wake up and see what is happening to their people!
The UN....or any other organization or country for that matter.....is not responsible for the travesty that is going on there!!! The responsiblity for it rests squarely on the shoulders of the Burmese leaders but all they care about is staying in power.
The aid that is being offered to them is being taken by the Junta and distributed as they see fit....which means it will not go to the people who need it.
There are not enough words to discribe the disgust that most human beings feel for what is happening there.

GG you could not have put it any better. The blame squarly rests at the shoulders of the egotistical, meglamaniacs who "run" the country. I read yesterday that the opposition leader, Aung San Suu Kyi has been under house arrest for 13 years, with just two maids and her meals are delivered daily and are are checked by guards. This house arrest has now been tightened since the disaster. What do they think she will do? A small 62 year old woman.

At last Burma is accepting aid, with the USA and Britain now leading. Long boats are being brought in to get to those isolated on the coast. The UN are putting pressure on the military rulers and the charity Save the Children are gravely concerned for the millions of unourished children that will undoubtedly starve if aid does not reach them. Doctors from India have been "allowed" in too.
Despite this show of grace by the Burmese government, restrictions are still inforce, they are trying to play down the scale of the disaster.
