i have heard that it has no effect on earthquakes.. just a coincidence... yeah its true that sun is affecting earth.. its mass attraction.. but they said its very very little movements that we cannot feel.. this are the things that i remember from the discussion

that's is interesting and certainly a lot easier for me to understand - since the suggested link is all in Turkish lol - I have understood something similar to your explanation Sui..

I heard the solar eclips makes the risk of earthquakes higher. Is this true? And how does this work?

There was an earthquake not long after the last total eclipse in Turkey - I think that's why people are talking about there being a link. But as Kadir says, there are many more earthqukes than there are eclipses - there's little evidence for a connection.

Capadocia here I come!

Thing is that.. If there were more eclipses than earthquakes, there wouldn't be a link. Because then every eclips would cause an earthquake, but.. there are more earthquakes than eclipses.

So this still doesn't change the fact (if it's true, that is) that there is MORE chance on having an earthquake, as a result of an eclips.. Whereas the happening of an earthquake DOESN'T mean there has been an eclips Anyhow, I'm not so geographical-minded and as long as Turkish people will stay safe, I'm happy

Enjoy Kapadokya

You go girl Ohh ofcourse, this is geology not geography Well it's obvious that my highschool-section is the one of art-history, history and language, and not the one of geology and economics, nor it is the section of science, biology, maths and physics! (Thank god it isn't!)

(ps I'll reply your PM soon.. thanks SO much! )
