It depends if your Turkcell-simcard is an international card, but i suppose it is. You can use it abroad if you are able to send sms to abroad too, that would be a good test.

If you are planning to move abroad, i advice you to buy a simcard in the country you are going to. If you move to Italy, buy an Italian simcard.. But if its just for holiday, buy many credits on your Turkcell simcard and use that one during the weeks you spend abroad. The thing is, that texting with a Turkish SIMcard abroad, is really expensive.. and one phonecall will probably finish all your normal credits very fast..
But for holiday your turkish phonenumber with much credits on it, will probably be fine!

Is your phone a triband phone? This means it can be used in USA, Europe and Asia. In the UK you have to get your bar lifted before you can use your phone abroad, which is simple. Just call the network provider. Dont know about Turkish phones tho'. My Turkish friends uses an English phone when he comes here.

You can use your phone in abroad but maybe more expensive than in the past so if you think to live long time in abroad you must give new Sim card which is deal with the country..it will be very cheaper..I recommend this way...
