Roles delineated for women on Turkish television and in newspapers in this country are quite clear. Morning television programs feature women either joining in "halay" and belly dances or tearfully sharing various traumatic events from their lives with curious viewers.
Then you have the third page of many Turkish newspapers where you can find stories about women who have been betrayed, beaten, abused or even raped. And of course there are always the photographs of the beauties that grace the final pages of these publications, newspapers which promote both consumer consumption and sexuality. And thus the answer to the question "What are the roles set aside for female viewers and readers in this nation?" is clear.

From the articles posted, it seems Turkey is still very much an "Man's World".

Just because Kurdish people want peace, doesn't mean they support the PKK and their crimes.
