Sadly Germany have just given Poland a bit of a pasting - 2-0! Poland are triers but not a match for a much slicker German team.

And I like the fact that they are tracking how far the players run during the game, so the player that has been subbed had run 8.9km

We always lose to Portugal just like in 2000 & 1996. And i do not think Turkey will succeed because of Terim ,im irritated when i see him or hear him talking. I hope i err and Turkey will qualify.

Modified!
Huge embrassment as I just found the other thread!

I am shocked and suprised that no-one has commented on last nights game!!!!!!!!

Switzerland vs Turkey!

It was an incredible game, they played football in all but a lake for most of the first half. Turkey were on top from the start, until it started to rain.................... Clearly they did not like the flooding conditions and the run of the game became frustrating and at points dangerous. Switzerland scored really because the ball came to a standstill in front of the goal mouth in a small lake.

Half time and the pitch was all but restored and the rain stopped, Turkey pulled out all the stops and won with two cracking goals!

The Swiss player, Hakan Yakin, who scored, he is of Turkish descent. Did I detect two others with Turkish names in the Swiss team? Gökhan Inler could have played for Turkey but was persuaded to play for Switzerland by the coach. So too is Eren Derdiyok of Turkish descent and could have played for Turkey!!

It will be a play off with Italy! If either one loses then they are out, and if it is a draw then it will be a shoot off.

Sadly, both games tonight are being shown on the same TV channel and both games kick off at 7:45, so not sure how they will do! I think it means one game we will see live the other will be a recording! Hope they show Turkey live

There will definitely not be a shoot off after France-Italy game, that's for sure.

There are many possibilities but shoot off is not one of them.

1- Rumenia wins, qualifies
2- Otherwise whoever the winner of France-Italy game is qualifies
3- Otherwise if Rumenia draws, qualifies
4- Otherwise if Holland beats Rumenia, and France-Italy game is draw, then the team with better scores qualifies, but still there are many possibilities where all the team may still be equal.

I think one interesting case is:
Holland-Italy 3-0
France-Rumenia 1-1

Holland-France 4-1
Italy-Rumenia 1-1

Holland-Rumenia 3-0
France-Italy 0-0

Then France 2 points with 2-5 avarage
Rumenia also has 2 points with 2-5 avarage
Italy has 2 points but less goals scored so it is out
I am not sure what will happen then between France and Rumenia

In all other draws (1-1, 2-2 etc) then Italy qualifes regardless of the score of Holland-Rumenia game when Holland is winner.
