If you have family in Bodrum then you can combine shopping, beach and history from here. Try walking through the sea to Rabbit Island at Gümüsülük, shopping at Turgetreis market on Saturday, partying at Gumbet, shopping at Bodrum, visiting the mauseleom, castle and ampitheatre at Bodrum. Also there are fantastic boat trips from Bodrum or Gumbet. A week isn't long enough in this area.
As you can see I am a fan!!

very interesting but would my sister enjoy that? She's only just finishing school, that stuff interest me a lot but this holiday has had a big change to my original plan due to a few problems at home, so it's a break for both of us but mainly for Eda to make some big decissions. Thanks again for all of the suggestions, they certainly make me want to stay for at least 3 weeks possibly more - like 8 which would mean no hotel

if you rent an apt it will be much cheaper than a hotel. I managed to get a 2 bdrm condo in Gazipasa for $300us. I was there 19 days.

how about antalya city centre its on the South coast . and has its own airport i would recommend antalya city centre , antalya is the city and the region. within the region there are many tourist built places etc etc (not nice in my opion , nothing there but two roads of shops and a beach ).

Antalya its a nice city very central ..everywhere you travel you can see mountains all the time but also sea (obviously not everywhere for the sea i was meaning more the mountains lol .. otherwise it would be an island.) it is the nicest backdrop. (i loved waking up to mountain view then heading down to beach),it also has both beach park area (for young), lots of shops , but also and quiter old quatre with lovely pebbled roads where you will almost certainly wonder around and get lost, there . the city has all moderns clothes shops , bars etc , but not to touristy.. its also near olimpos national park a cool experience . but maybe with your sis she would enjoy for one night and the rest in antalya.. its very near termessos duden waterfall -(maybe ok ) / Aspendos , Manavgat .....

olimpos is a small mixture of tree built pensions / v small hotels . and the main idea is sit back and chill. its set back from a beach. but is not built up (as in pools . bars etc ) maybe google its hard to explain..

from antalya it easy to get to lots of other tourist attractions .. more historical for you. but waterfalls could work for both .its very near termessos duden waterfall -(maybe ok ) / Aspendos , Manavgat .....

I would probably ber able to afford that, that would be roughly £150 for us, but considering Eda isn't an adult not yet anyways, I doubt we would well enjoy our selves for that amount of time, we'll get bored to quickly. But thanks for the idea

just not the towns that are still within antalya region but are at stages futher along the coast . i not visited all but they all seem the same type of thing. obviously beautifull as it in turkey and the south coast is beautifull but , i just dont love the england abroad theme all the time. abit of both is more my style
