I have learned the art of starting politically charged topics by posting articles from handsom.

I sincerely hope that this link will generate much debate... hehe

ha ha..
I completly agree with the decision:
"The Swedish government supports the establishment of a joint history commission between Turkey and Armenia. It acknowledges that this duty belongs to the historians. This is an appropriate decision,"

What a compliment to handsom! You know that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, don't you?

handsom, you are such a trendsetter! lol

But I agree also, this is a situation that must be looked at by historians and a decision must be based on facts....not emotion.

No, no, this is certainly a situation for politicians to "exploit" rather than for historians to "clarify."

Or, we could have the historians "re-write" history, as well, and have opportunistic politicians exploit the "newly" re-written version for future misery.

It is amazing how when one of the European states recognizes the so-called genocide, there is tremendous cheering from certain clowns in support of the decision, and yet, when a "respectable" European state vetoes the same bogus arrangement, there is utter silence...

Heh heh...

My props go to Sweden... I guess the Swedish do not share the political agenda of the "Swiss", who actually made it illegal to say that, in your judgement, the event was not a genocide...

Hmm, so much for having your own opinion about historic events, isn't it. A bit, similar to those "Draconian" laws in Turkey that you all seem to bring to our attetion quite regularly. You could be sent to jail in Switzerland, but are quite ok in Sweden... Go figure.

You are scraping the bottom of the barrel now (or scraping the dime?)

I dont think you can find any cheers in support of the decision when one of the states in EU recognized the so-called genocide.

Show me some!

Basically the decision by the Swiss government is the right decision and almost all discusions about this issue ended up saying 'it is the job for the historians not for the politicians'

So what is there to discuss?

I was hoping you would show up in this thread and cause further chaos like you do in other threads... Great to see you. It isn't the same to dance to these tunes without your participation.
