Eight people were injured in a blast in a cafe in Istanbul's Beylikduzu district, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported on Monday.

The blast which occurred on Sunday night caused damage to both the cafe and neighboring buildings, said the report, adding that eight people were slightly injured in the blast.

The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment and none of them is in life-threatening condition, added the report.

The security forces cordoned off the area to further investigate the cause of the blast.
