This is the recipe of PEYNIRLI POĞAÇA
1 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup oil (vegetable, corn, or conola)
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs (egg yolk of one should be set aside to brush the tops of poğaças)

2 1/2 - 3 cup flour
1 cup crumbled feta
1 bunch dill, chopped finely
1/4 cup (Turkish) black olives, pitted and sliced
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper flakes (optional)
black and sesame seeds
Except for one egg-yolk and black + sesame seeds, mix all the ingredients.
-Using your hands make small balls of dough and place them on a greased baking sheet.
-Brush them with egg-yolk and sprinkle black or sesame seeds on top.
-Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 40-50 minutes or until the pogacas are slightly brown.
Bon Apetit

Thank you, Queent. Have you ever tried your recipe using Yeast instead of Baking Powder?? I favor yeast.

Roswitha I never tried this recipe but I made many kinds of bread, I prefer yeast too, its taste seems more natural than the baking powder's one.
Good luck

Best known traditional quality Turkish Cookery= What kind of Turkish Breakfast, Turkish Dinner, Turkish Sweet and Dessert, Turkish Coffee and Tea do you like best? Turkish proverb = "Bir fincan kahvenin kýrk yýllýk hatýrý vardýr".
can anyone translate the proverb please? a cup of coffee lasts for a year! i didnt get the meaning with word to word translation.
I cooked "Zeytin Yaðlý Enginar " as an entrée for a dinner last weekend and everyone appreciated it. As for the main dish, it was Lamb Ouzi, a lebanese/syrian dish inherited from the ottoma era.
Below are photos taken from the web.

"Bir fincan kahvenin kýrk yýllýk hatýrý vardýr".
I think it´s literal meaning is ´A cup of coffee is remembered for 40 years´ (drinking coffee with someone ensures a long friendship - that´s the feeling I get from it)

Yes, the usual spirited translation (not literal)
is A cup of coffee commits one to 40 years of friendship
