Quoting catwoman:
Of course statement, not you!
Fair enough, but many had been to muslim countries and you know, facts are louder then words... |
As i understood, simple minded in your pattern meant 'simple facts'
Then, simple minded that less than % 0.1 of the Western have visited the İslamic countries and been between Muslims,so saying that the West has formed their views about İslam and Muslims by the facts of those people will be ironic ,and insulting to our intelligence too
Saying they have formed their views through the Media which have many aims, one of them is for people to accept sending their sons,fathers,brothers...ect to the front to kill those people will be much logical
Wont it ?!
Simple minded

Quoting KeithL: Quoting zhang ziyi: Quoting KeithL: I have often wondered when it was decided and by whom, why it became acceptable to eat pork and shellfish for Christians. |
From what I know Christians were never forbidden pork or anything else. |
Thats not true. Several references to this in the Old Testament and in the times of Jesus (Isa) the practice was still forbidden. So at some point, a man not necessarily of God, changed this long time practice for all Christians. |
maybe you should start reading the New Testament...

Quoting Elisabeth: The belief that it is ok to eat pork actually came from Jesus himself. I think (but I am not sure because its been more than a few decades since bible school) that in the Gospel of St. John that Jesus said something to the effect....why would you abstain from pork and observe all your other religious laws (like ritual ablution) and still be full of sin? (I am paraphrasing)...anyway, it is a Christian belief that God does not judge you by the contents of your stomach, or the cleanliness of your hands/feet, ect....but by the contents of your soul.

yes this is true. actually one of Christ's missions was to stop the traditions practiced by Pharisees and Saducees... etc...
