Cats have a special place in Islam. Mohammed was a big cat lover, as were several other important Muslim religious figures. So teachings about cats are plentiful in Islam, and they're nearly always about the goodness of cats.

They're more clever than the dogs in Istanbul. I remember seeing cats on a chilly morning at Topkapı Palace. They were sat on the floodlights after they had been turned off . . . they were nice and warm ;}.
I remember being at Fatih Camii one evening and fresh meat had been put out for the cats. There must have been at least 40 cats there.
But the dogs of Sultanahmet are quite tuneful. I remember sitting on a bench in the Hippodrome when the Call to Prayer began. Suddenly an old dog, sat nearby, began to join in . . . what a howler

What about dogs? I love dogs - they are the most honest and faithful creatures. |
Very faithful . . . they even join in with the call to prayer

Interesting indeed
I meant what was Mohammed's attitude to dogs? I heard many stories that are very negative in regards to poor dogs. I heard He ordered to kill them all in one city once.
What do you think? |
I am from Black Sea region and every family there nearly feeds a dog!!! and they are Muslim, and then believe in prophet Mohammed...
so what you claim and muslims believe is contradicting, i guess you should start to teach the truth to them poor muslims are having sin to feed dogs...

This sounds like the incidence you are referring to:
It is true that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) ordered the killing of dogs in Medina, but it was only a temporary order. The Prophet realised that the dogs were becoming not a nuisance, but they were not being properly cared for and they could potentially cause harm to the inhabitants of Medina, a city where the Prophet had found refuge. It was only a temporary order. That does not make it any easier to accept, but this was a different time and place than today.
The dogs were killed, but not ALL the dogs were killed. The Prophet emphasized through his sunnah and Allah through the Qur'an, that animals, especially dogs were to be treated with kindess, respect, and mercy. Dogs that were for protection and hunting were allowed to be kept alive.
dogs
"There is a hadith reported by Abu Huraira that says: "While a man was walking on a road. he became very thirsty. Then he came across a well, got down into it, drank (of its water) and then came out. Meanwhile he saw a dog panting and licking mud because of excessive thirst. The man said to himself "This dog is suffering from the same state of thirst as I did." So he went down the well (again) and filled his shoe (with water) and held it in his mouth and watered the dog. Allah thanked him for that deed and forgave him." The people asked, "O Allah's Apostle! Is there a reward for us in serving the animals?" He said, "(Yes) There is a reward for serving any animate (living being)." – [Bukhari Vol. 8, Book 73, #38]
So despite the Prophet's actions, they must be taken in context of the time and place and it must be noted that the Prophet Muhammad abhorred violence against ANY living creature, and dogs appear in the Qur'an and the Sunnah as companions to manking protecting them and assisting them."

I googled two words 'Mohammad and dogs'
There what I found: |
You know, it looks like you have an agenda .
Seeing as you do not understand the science of researching hadiths, thus just doing a simple Google search such as you have reportedly done is not really valid.

I googled. Then these hadiths must be not valid.
Yes I have an agenda, CIA and Mossad pay a lot money.
However, I'm considering to accept the Arab Offer, then my googling will have a different character (much pleasing to you) |

You are all jealous that Muhammed loved cats and not dogs or other animals. He loved cats and that's why my nickname is Catwoman!!! I am sure he is giving me his blessing from heaven.
