Reading the reaction of Turks to a thread about the PKK started me wondering.

I am sure we all consider ourselves to be strongly against terrorism, but actually we just have double standards like everyone else.

Do you consider Nelson Mandela to be a terrorist?
Do you consider the ANC to be a terrorist organisation?
Do you consider British suffragettes such as Emmeline Pankhurst to have been terrorists?

If your answer is "no" to any of the above, please explain why it is different.

Actually, the only difference is that you either feel sympathy for their cause or not. You view some terrorists as victims fighting against all odds, and others as inhumane killers.

Interesting...

Acceptable terrorism is Turkish government killing and terrorizing Kurds for decades, unacceptable is Kurds retaliating.

Acceptable terrorism is the US, Britain, Israel and others terrorizing the Middle East, unacceptable is Arabs hitting Twin Towers.

etc etc...

Oh... it is also acceptable to train radical jihadists against Russia... not that cool when they turn against you! lol

Of course, one act of terrorism does not make another one more acceptable. But we should be honest about who the terrorists really are and who started it!!!
