Here´s this year´s ranking of World´s Most Expensive Cities opened by:
1. London
2. Oslo
3. Dublin
with
Istanbul at 29th position
The criterion was the cost of a weighted shopping basket geared to Western European consumer habits containing 122 goods and services including rent.

Berlin is below Istanbul at place 30, then underneath there´s Seoul, Lisbon, Miami, Dubai, Hong Kong, Athens, Warsaw (place 44), Prague (place 50 ).

Here is Ireland? Yes, I was there in 1996 and even then it was a very expensive country. I´ll go to Japan again, a beer in a pub (canned, they hardly know drafts) costs only 1,50€!

Oh, my city, Lyon, is just above my home city Istanbul in the 28th place. From which market in İstanbul did they fill the basket, for me Lyon is much more expensive.
