Ah Rich, while I can´t advise you on this situation, I do sympathise. You sound very down, which is unusual for you

I hope someone here can offer you some good advice to help resolve your situation.

Big hugs x

How about contacting the British Embassy? Perhaps they are looking for people to hire or know institutions/companies that would be interested in employing you.

Thanks Daydreamer

Hi Richard,

we don´t know each other as I joined TC recently, but I can image how you feel.

If you want you can send me a copy of your CV by email, I have many good friends in Istanbul and I can ask them to give you an help as they are well introduced in many hotels.

Wishing you all the best.

anna

I have looked at the teaching side and so far have not had enough confidence to carry it through.

Richard.

so sorry to hear about your position.

Often in Turkey you get a job by knowing someone. Why dont you send me your CV by p.m. I can see if there is anyone I should introduce you to. Also send me your email address.

about teaching: he who dares wins, eh Rodney?

Best of luck

Marion

Hi Marion,

Rich,
If I remember correctly, there is an American Hospital in Istanbul. I know you have some medical experience. Perhaps they are looking for some one.

I had another thought too. There are doctors offices in Istanbul that do immigration physicals. Perhaps one would need an English speaker. I think I still have a list of the doctors offices...I will check and PM you.

Just an idea.....wish you the best!

Hi, don´t know if this helps! but have you tried these websites for work?

  http://istanbul.craigslist.com.tr/

http://www.mymerhaba.com/   - go to community billboard for jobs.

 http://www.expatriates.com/classifieds/trk/

They´re mostly jobs for English speakers.

Also English teaching is worth looking into!
