Have just discovered that you can ´top up´ phone credit online via the Turkcell website. Only draw back is it´s in Turkish. Although it´s easy enough to guess what is required I´m a bit reluctant to put credit card details on a site when I´m not 100% sure of what´s being asked. Has anyone used this and could do a ´step by step´ for us. Is it a secure site??

I guess there would be a security symbol if it is secure.  I always make sure I buy a top up card on the way home so that I can load it as soon as I arrive back in Turkey.  Failing that, I have a very good friend who has a Turkcell account and he transfers kontors to my phone.  I didn´t know this was possible until I received a strange message on my phone last year, in Turkish.  Someone translated it for me and said someone had transferred kontors to me.  This method came in very handy when I was lost late at night and was fast running out of kontors, phoning friends to help me find my way back!!!

Good idea to buy a card on the way home - though I usually have to get someone to do the top up for me!! Maybe if I study my lessons a bit more I´ll be able to do it myself. Would still be handy to be able to top up the bf´s phone when he sends a text saying he has no credit!!! {#lang_emotions_bigsmile}

 Topping up is easy.  There is a number on the back of the kontor card, I think it´s 8090.  When you call it the instructions are in English.  All you have to do is reveal the code number under the grey strip, key it in and press the # key.  The voice will repeat the number you have keyed in so that you can check you´ve done it correctly then if it´s ok you press 2 (the voice will tell you which key to press).

Tell your boyfriend to buy a stock of kontor cards
