I guess there are similar rules for military workers all over the world.
I believe in the UK, British soilders/military can marry whoever they like from any country. There is no law against it.

I guess there are similar rules for military workers all over the world.
As far as I know, we don´t have rules like that in the Netherlands. You´re free to love and marry who you want.

I say that there is a big distinctiion between an "officer" and "military". "Officers" are "career" at least in Turkiye. The rules may be different.

Turkey is regularly in the minority of countries that restrict what other nationalities view as basic human freedoms. The sad thing is the authorities create such a structure that the citizens think it is normal.
Turkey doesn´t let policemen marry foreigners either. One girl on this site had worried letters from her fiances mother when she said she was joining the police in England. The Turks assumed that meant she was ditching her Turkish fiance as she woudn´t be able to marry him. She had to explain that the UK government doesnt interfere.
The rest of the world allows access to You-Tube, too. Assuming its citizens are grown up enough to discern between right and wrong, between being faithful in their job and being a traitor etc.
Sorry, correction. China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Armenia, Tunisia and Indonesia also often ban You-Tube. What a group to align yourself with!

OMG....  Speaking of the big brother watching...    It´s quite amazing how many Turkish people even defend lots of these human rights violations!

right, but don`t you consider the right to live the most basic human right? America violates that right with death penalty. They have this barbaric punishment in saudi arabia, iran and china too. see how similar america is to these backward countries!
but honestly, I would rather get a youtube ban instead of being killed by the government!

I think there´s a difference between controlling average citizen´s life by not allowing him/her to marry whoever they wish because of career choices and country´s system of punishemt of criminals. However, I might be of such opinion as I am in favour of death penalty - people violating other people´s lives give up their right to live and why should the society (including the family of victims) pay for their well-being in prison?
What makes me wonder more is - if I understood correctly - you cannot quit if you are an officer? How is that possible?

As far as i know its not forbidden to marry foreigners since 90´s both for polices and army officers. But this has some extra procedures...
