Turkey ranks second after Russia in the list of countries with the largest number of human rights violation cases open at the European Court of Human Rights, with 9,000 cases currently pending.
Two-thirds of the applications made to the European court regard violations of fair trial and property rights. There are currently 440 cases opened against Turkey regarding torture, ill treatment and violation of the right to live.

Second? Is it that bad in Turkey? Personally I would have thought that Albania and Romania were higher on that list. Anyone with experiences s/he wants to share?

the poplutaion of Albania is just 3.5 million. how would you expect them to take a higher spot on the list? If you calculate the rate of cases per capita, you may get an higher rate than that of Turkey though.
Is there any case against the Dutch army for collaborating with the Serbs to kill the Bosnians, or did they get away with it?

It is interesting that posts regarding human rights just turn into a "your country is worse than mine" debate instead of any concern for the cruelty and suffering.
Until humans can stop this primative tribal behaviour, there is little hope of it ever improving

JITEM and what they have done are more than just ´ primative tribal behaviour´ really.
They were part of the ´deep state´ and very much related to ´ergenekon case´ in Turkey.
And what they have done can NOT be suported or taken lightly under any circumstances..
They are murderers and they have done all those things with the idea that ´they have been doing it for the sake of Turkey´ ( And they all call themselves ´nationalists´ )

The "primative tribal behaviour" I was referring to was more about nationalistic inability to see beyond borders. I wasn´t referring to the actual violations of human rights....there are no words to describe THEM!

Instead of saying what you think about the article, you are pointing again at other countries (in this case mine) as you always do. Are you an austriche, blind for your own countries mistakes? It seems so.

it was you who made a very irrelevant comparison between Albania and Romania and Turkey, and now you`re telling me that I`m pointing out other countries to cover up things.
