Guler Sabanci Turkey´s most powerful woman again

Sabancı Holding Chairman Güler Sabancı has been named Turkey´s most powerful woman for the third time in a row on the Forbes 2008 list of the top 100 women based on career, economic impact and media coverage.

 

On the overall listing, Sabancı ranked 75th. Forbes magazine described her, saying, "a reformed chain smoker, Sabancı is a strong advocate of Turkey joining the European Union." Also a board member of the International Crisis Group and the first female member of the European Round Table of Industrialists, Sabancı draws the attention of both the domestic and the international business world, the magazine noted, pointing also to her recent steps to pair up with Spanish and Japanese firms to build nuclear power plants.
