Correct! I just viewed it and here are two from  Russia and the Mexican is most interesting, it signifies the place for  Mexico City.

The coat of arms depicts a Mexican golden eagle perched upon a cactus devouring a snake. To the people of Tenochtitlan this would have strong religious connotations, but to the Europeans, it would come to symbolize the triumph of good over evil.

In England not every family has one-it´s usually only the aristocracy but you can design one if you want to.

Dear Stella, that is correct. Some German, Spanish and  British families are very proud of them.

Yes, I am still waiting....................

Here is more about the Mexican flag, i.e. coat of arms:

The Mexican Coat of Arms depicts the founding of Tenochtitlan, the Aztec capital. The Aztec god, Huitzilopochtli, told the nomadic tribe that they should settle where they found an eagle devouring a snake, perched on a cactus, growing from a rock in the middle of a lake.

Yes - is this going to be a discussion of coats of arms in general?  Because if it is I will move it to the General/Off Topic forum.

I like ones with rampant lions. I believe there are special names for the colours used in heraldry too.
