The ablative case has four version, -den, dan, -ten, -tan. It means "from"
Only one of them takes a different version of the ablative case.

Then I suggest that it say ´In these four cases, which version is different from the rest´?

for me, i was looking for a ´different version´  which for me is a trick question  lol

But then here, in the Homework Sec 5 nerede, nereden, nereye?  ....

This example is given:

Example:

This is the given question: Ayşe nereden geliyor? From where is Ayşe coming?

This is the given information : (okul) ...

This is your answer: Ayşe okuldan geliyor. Ayşe is coming from school.

What it is saying is: that for the answers you must match the cases, (but still using vowel harmony rules)

ie  a question using nereden should be answered with a ´den/dan/ten/tan´ suffix

eg İstanbul´dan, işten etc

Hope this helps you.

I also agree with you that the first time I read the other question, I was first looking for an exception to the rule rather than the odd one out.{#lang_emotions_rolleyes}

The reference to  the ´October class´ was for last year.  The system has changed.  You can use the Turkish Classes on the site and submit homework any time you want to.  You should start here:-

Good Luck with learning!
